A few "Why’s" regarding how I work

I know every counseling practice is a little different, so here is why I’ve chosen a virtual, private-pay model for Kindred Ground:

Why Virtual?

I’ve found that for many adolescents, the most "safe" and comfortable place is their own room or a quiet corner of their home.

• Comfort: Being in a familiar environment helps lower the "therapy jitters."

• Convenience: Life is busy. Virtual sessions mean one less commute for parents and more flexibility for students juggling sports, clubs, and homework.

• Accessibility: We can work together no matter where you are in Colorado.

Why Private Pay?

I’ve chosen not to partner directly with insurance companies for a few specific reasons that benefit my clients:

• Privacy & Control: Insurance companies require a formal mental health diagnosis to cover sessions, which then becomes part of a permanent medical record. By staying private pay, your child’s records and our work together stay completely confidential between us.

• No Middle Man: I want our sessions to be guided by what your teen actually needs—not by how many sessions an insurance company thinks they should have.

• Personalized Care: This model allows me to keep my caseload smaller so I can give each family my full energy and focus.
